Original Medicare is a federal health insurance program primarily for individuals aged 65 or older, as well as certain younger individuals with disabilities. It consists of two parts:Part A (Hospital Insurance): Covers inpatient hospital stays, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care, and some home health services.
Deductible: For each benefit period, the deductible for Part A is $1,600 (2025), which covers the cost of hospitalization and related services.
Part B (Medical Insurance): Covers outpatient services, including doctor visits, preventive care, certain medically necessary supplies, and other health services.
Deductible: For Part B, the annual deductible is $240 (2025), which must be paid before Medicare covers any services.
After meeting the deductible, you generally pay 20% of the Medicare-approved amount for most services under Part B, and there may be additional coinsurance or copayments depending on the service.

Vision care (eye exams, glasses, contact lenses)
Hearing aids and hearing exams
Long-term care (nursing home care)
